Super easy to make...after prepping the hens. This is ideal for a small dinner party, not a whole family. The flavor is good and it turned out better than expected! Like I already stated too time consuming for a family of 16 unless you have two+ ovens

I made Alton's Pomegranate Molasses and added some garlic to it as it reduced, which was delicious, but watch out and don't over-cook it because it will almost solidify. I put the molasses on the cornish hens and put them in the oven and all the molasses slid off and burned on the cookie sheet. Luckily I had some left in the pan and added that at the end and it turned out great.

I found the molasses at whole foods. I made this last night for dinner. I really liked it but I think I am the only one that did. My husband and adult son both said it was ok. :| I don't think I would change anything I really liked the molasses and I did make it with the couscous which was perdectly paired. you will need to cook the hens longer probably twice as long as recipe calls for

After looking at other Pomegranate Molasses recipes on this site, I saw they did add chicken stock at some point, so after reducing the syrup, I added 1/4 cup stock - it made it richer more plesant. I basted with this. I used two 3/4 lb. bone-in, skin-on chicken breasts browned in pan on both sides 15 min total and approx 20 min in oven - not more! Great! The couscous is amazingly pretty and tasty - I halved all for two people but used the full half cup almonds & only 5-6 small apricots cut into 1/4-1/8-inch dice, 2 green onlions sliced on the diagonal & the pomegranate seeds from the center of the fruit are MUCH sweeter than the ones near the root ends I found out. Life partner loved it. Trader Joe's sells Israeli Couscous. Alton Brown has a "from scratch" recipe for the molasses on this site - hard to find the molasses in stores now but not impossible.

I could not find the pomegranate molasses anywhere, so I made my own. you can google and get a recipe on how to. Can't wait to try this dish. I happen to see the show where she made this and the chicken broth was intended for the couscous in the same episode.

Loved it as well my family. The hens were tender. The second time I made it, I made it with different chicken parts. It was just as tasty. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what the chicken broth was for, thank you Mich23!

I made this recipe exactly as described and it was great! The glaze on the outside of the cornish hens was perfect. I will be making this again in the near future. (the chicken broth was intended for another recipe in this show

I was excited to find the pomegranate molasses, but after following the recipe, even thought the cornish hens were tender, the glaze was very bitter. My husband and I were very disappointed and will not make this again.

Loved it!! I could not find pomegranate molasses and made my own (I guess. I reduced 2 cups of pomegranate juice to about 1/4 cup and used that on the chooks. It was fabulous.
