These are absolutely the best brownies I have ever made. Every time I make them they always disappear. I always double the recipe and bake in a 13x9 pan. They need to bake a few minutes longer when doubled. So glad I tried this recipe. Thanks Melissa!

This is my first time writing any review on Food network. I have really been working on my health and losing weight. One area I have been struggling to find healthier food substitutes is in the sweets area. I saw a great review for this recipe but was very skeptical about black beans in a brownie. I made these with my husband tonight and could not believe how easy and good these turned out. We didn't have to buy anything that wasn't in the house akready and it truly satisfies my sweet tooth. If I hadn't made them I would not believe they were black beans. Thanks for this recipe.

We just love these brownies, I have made them according to the recipe. Great! I have used just honey or agave instead of the sugar. Fantastic! I have used whole wheat flour. Can't tell the difference. They are fudgey, moist and don't leave you feeling bad about eating a treat. My 24 yr old son ate some the other day and untill I told him he never guessed they weren't regular brownies!

I almost never write reviews, but these were actually delicious! They are very fudge like, and you can't taste the beans at all. My very picky 1 and 3 year old loved them, which means everything! I can't get them to eat any vegetables. I also make Melissa's chocolate veggie pancakes, and those are amazing as well. I was very skeptical about these brownies, but I would make these for any occasion (and I am very much a perfectionist, and only serve other people food that I know is amazing I cooked them about 25 minutes, until a toothpick came out almost-clean. They truly taste better than those boxed ghiradelli brownie mixes (which are the best box brownie mix I have found. I also mixed semi-sweet with milk chocolate chips.

I doubled the recipe, used applesauce for the oil, did a tsp. of vanilla and one of almond extract, skipped the chocolate chips entirely, and used a bit less sugar than called for. Needed to bake it a bit longer than 20 min., but kept an eye on it and when it was "somewhat matte around the edges and still a bit shiny in the middle," it was perfect. Family loves them. Thanks!

Wanted to get more beans into family diet so I decided to try Melissa's brownies, everyone who tried them didn't even know I put beans in them. We loved them! Will definitely make again, only will probably add walnuts.
