I have made this before and loved the crust on the outside. I can't recall if I brought this to room temp before starting recipe? Most recipes state to do so!

Awesome Au Jus sauce! I have not made the prime rib but have used the au jus sauce from this recipe multiple times. It's absolutely delicious on beef sandwiches!

The best prime rib ever. The mustard makes a crispy outside and juicy inside and the wine and Worcestershire sauce is wonderful.

Outstanding and we were so happy that we tried your Prime Rib Au Jus.
We have done Prime Ribs for years. This is the best one ever. Very easy, fool proof but watch
thermometer. Our 9 pound was RARE perfect in TWO hours.

I couldn't find a prime rib at our grocery store so I decided to used a nice rump roast instead. It turned out incredible! I couldn't find the garlic/peppercorn packet so I used the "grinder" garlic pepper mix that's found in a bottle in the spice section. I slathered Dijon mustard all over the roast then covered it with the garlic/peppercorn mixture and cooked it at 325. I didn't mess with the gravy but used the juice in the pan to pour over the sliced meat. I think this recipe would have been fantastic with prime rib but this is an affordable option for those watching their budget.
