Well, I feel a bit silly. The directions weren't clear and so I thought the corn mixture went into the ground beef. After reading the directions and realizing they were a condiment, it was too late. I figured, "what the heck," and tried it anyway. I'm really glad I did. I had to add a little water to make the corn stick better and threw in the adobo sauce and a pinch of toasted coriander seeds that I ground for another recipe. Strangely enough the corn gave the burger a kick I wasn't expecting. They were sweet, spicy, crunchy, and as the other reviewer said, complex. I guess sometimes mistakes turn out for the better.

This recipe was awesome! i finely diced some of the chipotle peppers in adobo and added it to my beef patties and topped them with a slice of pepperjack cheese for an extra kick of spicy. this burger is complex in taste and texture. i used alot of the same components to make a potato salad as well.
