Marinated for over 24hrs. Did not flour the beef, but still seared it. Add extra veggies to stew. Did not use mushrooms or potatoes. Maybe next time use potatoes. Used a pino noir wine.

Amazing taste! Left it in the marinade for 24 hours due to work schedule and that sure didn;t hurt a thing! No slab bacon at the market but pancetta was a fine substitute. Next time I will large dice the potatoes- quartering them wasn;t enough. Definitely a new favorite in my house- thanks Anne!

Omg!!! Chef Ann did it again!!! I love this dish. The meat melts in your mouth. I did add mixed vegetables. It was delicious. To bad I don't have a man to cook it for ;(

Marinade really does make a difference! The thickness of the stew and the flavor of the ingredients made for excellent food. My husband and I love cooking together which made preparing this a lot of fun.

This was delicious! My Husband commented that he couldn't tell which he liked better, Ann Burrells version, or Julia Childs. I thought it was less rich then Julia's, but much simpler to put together. Marinating the meat in the wine (I got a cheaper Pinot Nior to marinate in and a slightly more pricy one to drink with it made it so tender. This is definitely a repeat.
