I can't have soy so I substitute w/ my own balsamic type concoction.. if i could eat soy this would be even better. but this was very very tasty. My husband loved it too. He said, "I like the sauce." I said..yea that's the pickle on the carrots LOL. (vinegar and sugar! I loved the mint flavor along w/ the cilantro. Husband doesn't care for either (although i tried to get him to try it but it was easy to do your own. I DID use the rice tortillas... worked nicely. Hubby used regular wheat tortillas. I used a cast iron skillet which i think was key- was going to use the grill but it was blistering outside today. for those that have used chicken..try it w/ the pork! (I did cook it an extra 2 or 3 minutes over what the recipe said..it wasn't quite done even w a super hot pan. So this gets 5 stars because it is something both hubby and i like, will make often and is relatively EZ to make

I loved this recipe! I used chicken instead of pork, and it tasted fantastic with the spices. I will make this again and again.

I am happy that you are trying to be inclusive of the gluten free population however this recipe, even with the gluten free tortilla, is not gluten free. The soy sauce in the marinade probably is not gluten free. Most soy sauce is not. You should have mentioned to use gluten free soy sauce those not familiar with the gluten free life. I am happy that you included it on this page.

Outstanding. I didnt have all the spices but winged it with some of the spice ingredients that I did have. If you have Jerk Spice I imagine you could get similar flavors. I made this on Sunday and will make it again to bring to a function this week. Very light and bursting w/flavor. Everyone in the house Loved It.

WOW! The combination of the mint with the sandwich makes this shine. I made these for my dad as a kick for his vacation. What a flavor explosion.

Really great recipe. I followed the directions exactly but I can see how after you get down the basics you can really turn this into whatever you want. I marinated both chicken and pork and they turned out wonderfully. The flavor is just to die for. The pork was sweeter than the chicken and my favorite of the two meats. The combination of pickled carrots with the cucumber is so good! Light, refreshing and super flavorful (and easy to make! Win!

Great for a hot summer night dinner. I would add more pork the next time I make these.

Great stuff...never used these spices; terrific. I used whole wheat tortillas, very good but next time will try it on a baguette. Thanks!
