Really liked this recipe! The pork came out tender and moist, and with a good flavor. I loved the apple slaw as well. The celery seeds really add something to the slaw, so don't skip them. I tried to grate my apple using a food processor with a shredding attachment, and that did not work well (it shredded them much too finely, and they turned brown quickly as a result. I recommend hand shredding them, or possible julienning them, as larger pieces have more crunch and add a nice texture to the sandwich. Also, I like my pork to be really saucy, and I thought it was nice to also slather a little barbecue sauce on top of the pork.

I have tried three of Jeff's recipes so far and cannot wait to try the rest!!! So far everything has been GREAT! The only problem I have had is my family says I didn't make enough. Next time I will be doubling any recipe he has. Thanks Jeff!!! Me and my family LOVE YOU and your show! Keep the recipes coming, can't wait for the next one.

Loved It! What a great sandwich. I didn't have Hard Cider so skipped it entirely, but no complaints whatsoever. I had some local produce handy so made the slaw with locally grown cabbage and apples, using the food processor so it was chopped rather than shredded. I love it that way, and it reminded me of North Carolina BBQ since we add slaw to our bbq pork sandwiches here. Don't skip the Gorgonzola - I couldn't find dolce so I used the crumbles, and it was a really unique and wonderful kick,. It was really awesome, thank you SO MUCH Jeff!

BTW I went out and bought Grapeseed Oil since Jeff uses it. Never thought I'd try it, but I'm really pleased with it! Nice change from Olive Oil.

I love Jeff! I don't know where to post my opinion of the new show, so I am doing it here. And I will make this pork sandwich....with my own spin. Will use pork shoulder, already pulled. but his apple slaw is the best for it!

Glad to see this again. I had it almost weekly at a small sandwhich shop in SOHO and was disappointed when it came off their menu. I followed this receipe to the letter but don't think the flavors match the original I enjoyed. Glad to see a mix of real people on FN that entertain compared to the drier true food experts on PBS.

We have made this twice already. I love when a sandwich can be a whole meal! I have another recipe for an apple slaw, so I have been using that one. But next time we will try his. The pork tastes amazing with the gorgonzola and crisp apples.

I find it ironic when people change the recipe then give something poor or mediocre reviews. It makes no sense to me, as they are not rating the actual recipe but their cooking. That said, I actually followed exactly what Jeff had done. Holy cow this was good. We loved the apple slaw (the main reason I came looking for this recipe and it was the perfect compliment to the sammy. There are a lot of variables, (quality of the cut of porkt, apples, oven quality for roasting, etc. that effect the outcome of the dish. This is a keeper and can be adapted for a multitude of dishes!!
