I wonder if I didn't understand the directions as the sauce was very watery. The browned cheese was tasty and perhaps I'll try this again if in reading the reviews I get an idea what I did wrong.

WOW! when I read the recipe and watch Aarty made it on TV I thought what a estrange combination of ingredients. But all these flavors mix so well, and in every bite i an explosion of each flavor. Love it.

I made her paneer recipe and then this. It was a VERY impressive dish! The only change I made was I added extra red pepper flakes to make more spicy. YUM! Make this to impress your friends!

Delicious. for some reason i couldn't find dates so i substituted dried apricots - way yummy. I am planning on making this as an appetizer using the filo cups as a base. Thanks Aarti.

I grew up eating homemade paneer but now we buy it from the store. This recipe was delicious. I made it with onions instead of shallots (because it's what I had at home. Also I used vegetable broth. It was a nice change from the more traditional recipes I've eaten with paneer growing up. I will definitely make this again! I used the 2 cups of broth as written and just let it cook down till the right consistency.

Delicious! This is a very tasty dish, again, with quite a lot of complexity of flavor. I did make my own cheese which was fun and pretty easy. Btw - i made as recipe called for and it was enough for a dish sized like a large appetizer for 2. I think there may be a mistake in ingredient amounts because it called for 2 cups liquid which i assume was really meant to say 1/2 cup liquid as there was way too much. Regardless, this is a delectable and interesting dish that your guests may never have had anywhere before & will love, so DO give it a go. Thank you yet again, Aarti - you really are an incredible & sharing chef : ]

I never watch a cooking show and then try to make the recipe UNTIL NOW! I love Aarti and she is the one that inspired me to try Indian food for the first time. I loved the Big Cheese episode and made every single dish. My kids had fun helping me make the cheese and I am hooked. This dish was my favorite from the episode- sweet, salty, spicy! I love the addition of the lemon juice and almonds at the end, it really made the dish come alive. I agree that 2 cups seems like to much liquid. I used 1 cup and it was great. Last night I used 2 and just let the sauce simmer and reduce.

I can't eat cheese so I substituted sliced, pressed tofu for the paneer. I also used vegetable broth in place of the chicken stock. Two cups of broth, per the recipe, seemed like a lot so I used just one cup and it was just right. The combination of sweet, spicy and sour in the sauce was delicious and so good over the pan seared tofu. The crunch of the toasted almonds was a terrific texture element. A definite make-again recipe. I served this over lemon orzo.

Aarti's show is spectacular. I am a cook who doesn't follow recipes but who is inspired by what others make. I am also vegetarian and gluten free. Her show is one that I always TiVo and watch again and again. So many lovely touches. I have made my own riccotta but never thought to make my own paneer. Love the recipe with the dates and the almonds. All I had to do was swap out the chicken stock and use vegetable stock and it was wonderful.

Making Paneer at home was so intimidating for me before watching this show. Aarti made it so easy to try it home. It tasted so delicious and fresh, plus I feel proud of myself to make the whole dish from scratch!!! Paneer fingers were unique and sooo delicious!!! Thanks Aarti for wonderful recipe!!
