As soon as I watched your show today I ran right out and bought the ingredients. I could not find the fontanella cheese, so I opted for a nice aged provolone. It was fun cooking with new ingredients, like figs and mortadella. Thank you and great show!

Oh pahleeze, Chicharrita, your name says it all. They both were great! Race card indeed. I thought the sandwich king was more versatile. But just by an inch did I hope for him....She was great but Mexican has been overdone.

You did great on your debut today! Followed the whole season, still was torn between you and Susie, I wish you both could have won! My local Publix had mortadella, so I had to get some. The person working the counter said "funny, we usually don't sell much of this, but your the 3rd person today I sold it to!". I laughed, told them about your show, and that you said every household should have a pound of it. Just made it with regular bread and provolone on a george foreman, and both my son and I loved it! Thanks for introducing a new product to our house!

Inspiring! Jeff's description of the fontanella cheese inspired a trip to the store and helped turn our home-grown eggplant into an awesome "sandwich" side dish. We think Jeff rocks! Enjoyed his show and will watch again. So excited to have a chef representing Chicago and opening our eyes to the special ingredients we didn't even know we could get!

Made this today. Quite easy! I was unable to find focaccia bread, but I used ciabatta rolls instead and that worked fine. Also: I didn't have a griddle OR a panini press. Instead I used a regular frying pan and weighed the sandwich down with a smaller cast-iron pan. It worked very well. The sandwich was on the greasy side, but delicious, a great combination of sweet and savory. I hope Jeff offers us some healthier fare in coming shows. :

Loved watching Jeff. Wanted to book a ticket to Chicago to have the beef sandwich. Instead went to the market and got the ingredients to make the focaccianini. Naturally, there was not the same cheese nor could I find the bread. And not having the time to make the fig mixture, I got the mortadella with pistacio, got asiago cheese for the lack of any other choose, got a pre-made tapanade of cranberry, fig, etc. and put it together. DELICIOUS! Would have never thought of putting any of that together had I not see Jeff's show. Sure, I made some adjustments, and, would have never made the sandwich without his guidance. The sandwich was awesome! Can't wait to make the beef! Jeff rocks!

I made the fig spread and it was delicious. Couldn't find Mortadella at our local grocery, but did find an Italian deli, so will go get some and try the sandwich. Chuck roast is in the oven cooking. I have never gone out and gotten ingredients after watching a show before.....really enjoyed the show. I will keep watching.

Way to go Jeff! My children and I were cheering for you from the very beginning! We love sandwiches and we love making comfort food into sandwiches. Food Network definitely made the best choice when they chose the Sandwich King as their new star. I will be making both of these recipes within the next week. Being a displaced Chicagoan has me craving italian beef and anything made with focaccia bread. I wish you many, many happy sandwiches in the future.

Made both recipes and they are easy for anyone at any cooking level! Figs are delicious - happy to see they made it into his menu lineup. Congrats to Jeff for winning - sandwich nights are close to my heart as growing up we had soup and sandwich night due to our busy schedules. Yay Jeff!
