Super easy and tasty recipe. This was my first time making an Indian dish and I quite enjoyed it. My husband hates peas and we both are not found of tomatoes so I omitted both but added tomato paste and it worked well. Definitely would make it again.

Nice easy recipe, I would say it's India's version of chili. I will add more of the spices next time and def add stock instead of water. A lot of salt was needed after the water. I used a can of fire roasted tomatoes and added some baby portabellow mushrooms and used two serrano peppers, which gave it a nice kick. I served it with brown rice and whole wheat flat bread. My roommate and I enjoyed the dish. Thanks Aarti, I enjoy your show! I'm now getting into cooking Indian food.

We enjoyed this; the mixture of all the spices was delicious, but I doubled the amount and next time will triple the amount to suit my taste.

Yummy. Substituted a cup of broth for the water and used the whole cup as I want to serve it over rice for my hubby. Smells and tastes awesome. Still simmering on the stove. Yum yum!

Made it with ground turkey, and it was delicious! The whold family loved it. As I'm on a bit of a healthy diet, it fit right in, being low in calories, low in carbs, and just a great dish to become a staple in our diets! THANK YOU Aarti! I have you programmed on my DVR, so I miss nothing. You are my favorite chef!

Didn't find it very Indian-tasting; smelled more Indian than it tasted. Also found the dish too dry for my taste.

Very tasty. We followed the recipe as written and used grass fed ground beef (very lean so it wasn't the least bit greasy. Served it with ancient grain tortillas. I agree that the amount of water could be reduced. Thanks, Aarti!

Like an Indian version of picadillo that's easy to customize to your tastes and what's on hand. Freezes really well, too. Like others have said, use much less water than specified, even with a drier ground meat like turkey. I used big lettuce leaves instead of flatbread the second time I made it: a little messier but delicious.
