My family raved about these at Thanksgiving. They are a combination of country and city folks, but they all know their way around the meat and potatoes. It was fun listening to them try to guess know gave these luscious, creamy potatoes that little something special. Love this recipe!

My new go to recipe for mashed potatoes! Even my dad says they are the only mashed potatoes he can eat without gravy. I do use only one stick of butter and seems to be plenty. I never make them any other way now.

I made these for Thanksgiving this year based on all the excellent reviews, and while they were delicious, I don't really think they're all that different from any other mashed potatoes I've made. I will say that although I usually subscribe to the Paula Deen theory that there's no such thing as too much butter, these potatoes really do have too much butter when you factor in all the cream and cream cheese. Did I really just say that?!?!?

I made these the day before Thanksgiving and reheated them. They are the most amazing mashed potatoes I have ever had. This will be the only recipe I use for mashed potatoes.

I have always made great mashed potatoes.....kids and hubby agree but this was THE BEST mashed potatoes and will be the only way I prepare them from now on! I have 3 boys (17,13 & 6 and my hubby so needless to say I am always in the kitchen so I was very proud when they just could not stop talking about how awesome these were. My oldest said Mom those potatoes were the "bomb" lol! I used yellow potatoes b/c thats what I had, not Yukon and they were awesome! Thanks so much Ree!

Made these with the chicken fried steak and loved them. Made them again yesterday for Thanksgiving and everyone raved over the potatoes. That was a first. Everyone loved the creaminess of them. I did cut back on the butter this time. I used one stick. I am not afraid of butter. The first time I made them there were rivers running thru them. You can always add but you cannot take away. BTW the chicken fried steak was the best we ever had.
