I was really skeptical about how this recipe would turn out. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it came out looking and tasting just like real ice cream! My husband did not believe that it was only frozen bananas and some milk. But just like another reviewer stated, it did taste bitter. Not sure what causes this, maybe the fact that bananas are frozen? If anyone has run into the same issue and figured out how to mask the bitterness without adding a bunch artificial ingredients, please post your ideas!

My daughter is on Weight Watchers and she recently had her wisdom teeth removed. The first day she could have only cold foods. I made this for her. We not only followed doctor's orders, but we were able to stay with her Weight Watchers, too. She loves it! Our entire family loves it! I added a Tablespoon of peanut butter for variety. Yumo & Delish!!!! I've tried this with every ripeness of banana. I find too ripe and green are not too good. A yellow ripe banana works best for our family. This is a keeper!!!!

Fun and easy to make. Not sure why, but my "ice cream" tasted a bit bitter. I used very ripe bananas, and the chocolate sauce does a good job of masking that bitter taste. However, the second time I made it I used 2 heaping tablespoons of peanutbutter in the food processor and that took the bitterness away!

Any one who is a healthy eater or eating lite for weight loss, etc. needs to try this! All you do is freeze some very ripe bananas (skin off & cut up. The next day, throw them in your blender or food processor with a little milk or water (I used water for a few minutes and they turn into the best banana ice cream. So good & healthy! I had to hold down my processor the first couple of seconds because it was being knocked around by the frozen bananas LOL!

This was excellent but if you run the frozen bananas trough a juicer you don't even need milk.

Absolutely amazing - I used Fat Free Milk and it came out exactly like Rachael's did. Thank you for another AWESOME recipe, Rachael - you are the greatest and a complete genius

super "ice cream"!! i used fat-free milk and cut the banana into one inch chunks. (rachael's large chunks would have sent my processor into the next dimension. tastes wonderful and the consistancy is perfect. i also froze bananas on a sil-pat sheet in a single layer then put them into a plastic bag. i made it the next day and they stayed loose and were easier to chop.

EXCELLENT. I would make this again in a heatbeat. Instead of regular milk I used vanilla soy milk. Deeeelicious!!

I was excited to try this since I have developed an allergy to cow's milk and I liked it a lot! I used vanilla soy milk and it was very creamy. I think I will add a little sugar or vanilla next time. It was definitely very banana-y, and I've never really enjoyed bananas all that much, but once you pour enough chocolate and nuts on it it tastes pretty good!

I love this! Since I saw the episode, I've made it several times for myself for dessert or a quick snack. Thanks for the great, satisfying, health conscious treat!
