    Well, never finding a good turnip recipe..I was plesanty suprised...I loved it... used low fat cheese- dieting, still a winner to me

    I was very surprised how good these were. I did not make them like fries, I just sliced them (didn't peel them either and baked them at 400º for about 45 minutes, I didn't make the gravy either, I used it as a potato side dish. I guess you have to really like turnips to like this recipe, I will be saving this one.

    You would need to be very, very hungry to eat these fries. They had a distinctly strong turnip flavor.
    We used full fat cheese and left out the gravy. If you covered them in ketchup, they weren't as bad.

    Ok, I may be losing my mind - but I thought on the episode, she mentioned making these with Kabocha squash. My husband and I recalled you taking about this for fries as it was potato like... Anyway, very difficult to peal... very bland and tasteless, we would not suggest. We will try with the turnip next time - but no gravy....
