My son is allergic to egg so we substituted frozen filo dough for the egg roll wrappers. It popped the price up a bit but my finicky eater ate TWO! Thanks for this fun recipe!

wow, this recipe was fabulous! The meat sauce was so flavorful. I did use pork Italian sausage instead of chicken. And I made some w/o the mango chutney b/c I was unsure of how it would taste. Both versions turned out well. My husband ate 5 of the cupcakes! The only difficult part was finding the cloves to remove them. I think I will remove them before adding in the basil. Thanks so much. Will make these again soon!

What a great idea! I loved the sauce. I didn't use the mango chutney but put some pesto in there and my family loved it - so much fun to eat - it was a hit with the whole family. Love you Aarti!

I seen this recipe and had to try it.....WOW! I loved it! I did not use the mango chutney and added some chicken instead of the sausage. My family loved this dish and I will be making this again. This dish is very simple and easy to make.....Thanks Aarti....I love the recipe and your show!

I made this last night after work. It was very easy and tasty. I didn't think my husband would like it since there is tomato and cheese in it but he thought it was very good. He ate 4 last night, 2 for breakfast today and another 2 for dinner tonight. I found myself thinking about them today while at work and was very gald to have them waiting for me when I got home.
My muffin tin must be smaller than Aarti's because the recipe made 19 muffins not 12. I will make this agin (and at the repeated request of my husband, too.

I didn't follow the recipe to the T either but used the general method and they turned out fabulous!! I think you could put anything in these layers and it would turn out great!! Sweet, savory, whatever. The wonton wrappers crisped up nicely and even my kids ate it. I make the same lasagna in traditional form and they won't eat it.. I made it this way and they gobbled it up! Great Aarti! thanks

Yummy. I didn't have whole cloves or cinnamon sticks on hand, so I added a few pinches of powdered cloves and cinnamon to the onions and garlic as they sauteed. I also added a few pinches of cinnamon and cloves to the crushed tomatoes. Easy-peezy.
I have a standard-sized muffin tray, with 12 wells. I was only able to build up 2 layers of meat sauce/cheese-chutney mixture before I had nearly reached the top of the muffin well. So I simply topped off the 2nd layer with a won ton wrapper that was then topped with the mozz-parm cheese.
If you over stuff the layers, then during cooking, the meat sauce and cheese spills over and cements the cupcake into the tin.
So in the end I had nearly 1/2 of the meat filling and 1/2 of the cheese mixture leftover. Which is fine by me. I can go buy more won ton wrappers and make another batch of these delights.

I really liked this recipe however I always change it a bit. I skipped the Mango Chutney, cinnamon and cloves. My fa,ily LOVED this. I will make this again! And I really liked how it is so versatile, You can do ham and cheese with spinach or broccoli or even try mexican style or even breakfast! The possibilities are limitless!
