Tsk... to all the naysayers out there and the complainers... come on! This is a sweet little recipe that so many of us were lucky enough to have Grandma's fix this for us or learn in Girl Scouts etc... but what about those who never had the Mom or the Grandma or the Girl Scout Leader to help us experience something so simple but just plain GOOD! Thanks Ree! Keep reminding us of the simple stuff that all of us can appreciate, (in these times especially! along with your other AWESOME recipes!

This brought back many memories of my grandmother making these for us kids. As a child, I was picky about my eggs. My grandmother would scramble my eggs and add it to the bread and cook my a little longer. I made these for my kids and they ate their breakfast without asking. Thanks for the memories.

WOW! My husband said they had these growing up, I never did. Made them for a grandkid's sleep over and the kids think I am awesome! Thanks for the simple goodness and a few tricks to make something plain into a winner in grandma's house. WE LOVE REE!

When my husband was little, his grandmother always made these for the grandchldren and she always called them "nest egg". He absolutely loves them! You reminded him just how much he misses them.

I made these for my kids when they were very young. The show reminded me of them so I rolled it out for breakfast and my kids were so happy. You would have thought I made homemade waffels or something fancy! It was like a trip down memory lane.

YUM!!! Simple, quick and easy...my kind of breakfast! Not every recipe should be complicated or difficult, especially in the morning when the clock is ticking fast!!! Thanks!

These are so old. I use to make them in the 60's and we called them "egg in the basket"
. My daughter came home from school cooking class and said " I have a new recipe called 'Toad in the hole" ". I just had to laugh. I guess it is a regional thing on the name. However it is a great recipe and easy breakfast.

This is one of my all-time favorite breakfasts. Not an original recipe, but tried and true. Best of all, it is cheap!
