Very easy recipe and great results. Served it at a dinner party last night with a "winter comfort food" theme and it was perfect.

Very disappointed, I followed this to the T, it was not very good, all I can think is that I purchased the chuck roast from a standard grocery store and the meat was sub standard. In California we do ot have very good meat! But I have had great success from Ree's other recipe's.

    The BEST!!!!

This is the only way I will make pot roast from now on. I follow the directions exactly except for the wine. The hubby and kiddies love it and only want it made this way from now on.

    Thanks Ree!

I made this roast about 10 days ago when we were visiting with my mom and she's still raving about it. I used a bottom round roast, but the rest was the same. Well, no, sorry, I did have to substitute about half of the beef broth with chicken broth. It was moist, flavorful, and fall apart on your fork tender. The veggies were done to perfection and tasted great, as well. I've never browned the veggies and roast before, well, roasting. I'll do that from now on, though. It carmelized the outsides and added wonderful flavor and texture.

Yes, this is the best pot roast. I've made this only once and it was EXCELLENT. I plan on making it again tomorrow.....I'll never cook it any other way.

Fantastic! Beef and red wine is always a great combination. Since I do not cook with onions, I studded the roast with garlic to add wonderful flavor. Easy recipe with simple rich ingredients,. we will be having this roast many times. Love watching your show.

All we kept saying is YUMMM!!! This recipe was super easy and amazing, the ultimate comfort food. I made the pot roast with Ree's creamy mashed potatoes and some cinnamon apples and it was quite a hit. Ree is now my favorite chef on food network.
