I thought I knew how to make pot roast... bought this cut of meat and made it according to Ree's recipe. There's no turning back to mom's way. Delicious, worth the time. Great cold weather dish, comfort food completely. Paired it with her mashed potato recipe. YUM.

This is the best pot roast I have ever made! Made it several times and my family loves it. I do cut up a few red potatoes and add those as well. I have tried pot roast many ways and this is the best.

This will be my new go to Pot Roast recipe. So yummy. I used a Cabernet Sauvignon for the red wine.

This recipe is delicious and taste like you spent more time on it than you actually have to spend.

Made this last night! The aroma filled the house when I started with the onions. Followed the recipe except for the cooking time. I wanted to slow cook it for at least 9 hrs on 225 degrees. It came out too tender..But the flavor was good. I added garlic like some suggested while cooking the onions. Used 1 cup red wine and the rest in beef broth low sodium..I'm STILL looking for the best pot roast!

Made this roast today and it was by far the best ever!!!! Made exactly as recipe said, used a 4 1/2 lb roast and had in oven for 5 hrs. Took the advice of another reviewer and used my immulsion blender to blend the carrots and onions into the broth. Made the most delicious gravy ever and didn't need any thickening. This will definitely be my "go to" roast recipe every time, plus the house smelled so good while cooking.

this recipe was easy and tasty. I don't care for red wine in my food, so I omitted the wine. I did however add potatoes. Since my boyfriend is an extremely PICKY eater, I omitted the herbs as well, but if there was a way to add them without him noticing it, I would have added the herbs.

I had almost given up making pot roasts that always seemed to come out dry and stringy even in the crockpot. This was flavorful, tender, and easy.
