This the best chocolate cookie recipe my Mom has ever tried. Loved them when the were warm. Even good once they are cold. Mom says they are very easy -- maybe even easy enough for me to make :-

Just when I thought there was nothing new in home made cookies, along comes these. A new favorite.

This makes a thin, chewy cookie just like Ree said. The malted milk gives it a different, but yummy taste. A nice change from the softer chocolate chip cookie I usually make, which I also love.

These are really great! I like the malted milk flavor. They do spread out quite a bit, but they were chewy and deliciously sweet. Thanks, Ree!

I, too, used to put malted milk powder in my milk and drink it (all day long! I just happen to have TWO containers of malted milk powder in my cabinet. I love how they spread and become chewy-crunchy. Just don't over-cook them. These are going to be my new favorite cookies from now on. I ADORE you Ree Drummond, and your show!!!

I liked these cookies and they do work better with a tsp size scoop. I used too big of a scoop at first and was surprised how much they spread. I did exchange 1 tsp kosher salt instead of using 1.5 tsp of reg. salt. I liked the little extra pop of coarse salt and the taste of the malt was a nice touch. If you like a thin cookie give these a try.

I thought my kids and husband would flip for these but sadly we ended up throwing most of them away. They spread out A LOT, and are soft for about the first 2 minutes out of the oven. Even if I slightly underbaked them, they still got very hard after 20 minutes. Overall, the flavor is too sweet. Since the malted milk powder consists of mostly sugar, this recipe would be fine with 1/2 the sugar (and I like things sweet. Won't be making this again, and feel I wasted $5 on malted milk powder.
