I like this recipe I am glad that I found it. When you make some thing easy and simple this is what to make. What I did was made some rice and put the creamy peas over it with fresh bacon bits in the creamed peas.

I love peas and thought these were great esp for a holiday side dish. VERY easy to make, even my teenage son can do it and that's sayin' something!

Tracy, from Modesto (i[m from Manteca....we're almost neighbors Anyway, this will not thicken. You have to add a little flour to the melted butter-salt-pepper and then add the cream...then add the peas and the rest of the ingredient etc. Even though I thought it was strange not to use a 'thickener' and to let just basically simmer to 'thicken' I tried it and let it simmer for an hour...never thickened :. You can use corn starch mixed in water and then add to the VERY hot cream and that will thicken it. Anyway...Have fun!

This was pretty good. The sauce didn't thicken up so I added a little corn starch mixed with water. I didn't have any fresh mint so I added about a tsp. of dried mint. I do like it and probably will make it again.

I liked it! I didn't have mint but I added some chopped mushrooms into the onions while cooking. My cream sauce didn't really thicken up, I continued to simmer hoping it would but it didn't. Maybe someone can give me a tip on how to get it to thicken.

I have never been able to get my kids (14,9, and 7 to eat peas but these were a BIG HIT! Delicious and the mint makes them pop!
