This recipe was delish! I did peel the apples though because Granny Smith apples have a tough skin and I was worried it wouldn't work. The pie was so flavorful and the pecans gave it a little bit of a crunch which was a pleasant surprise. I would make this one again!

Great filling recipe. I used Ina Garten's "Perfect Pie Crust" recipe, because I am a huge fan of Ina's...but her apple pie filling got reviews of being too citrusy. So, I went with Emeril, and I am VERY happy I did so. The chopped pecans were delightful, I chopped mine almost to a mince, so you just had a nice nutty flavor and every now and then a crunch. The mix of the two apple varieties were great, and the juice of the lemon...all of it gave a nice tanginess, without sacrificing the natural sweetness.

Only down side for this receipe is the amount of prep time. The pie itself was wonderful.

The apples would have tasted better if peeled. The pecans didn't pair well with the apples.

I have been baking apple pies since I was a child, and this is the best recipe I have ever used. Everyone loved it. I use a crumb crust instead of a double crust. Everyone at my Thanksgiving table was a very happy camper.

This recipe was so simple to follow. I used Marie Callenders frozen pie crust and everyone couldn't believe the crust was store bought. A Thanksgiving hit!
