I made a small 2-bone roast. My husband claims it was better than any he ever had at a restaurant - I agree. Simply delicious and easy to prepare. Meat thermometer is a must. I cooked the meat to only 120 for rare to med rare and after the resting it was JUST PERFECT pink!! Thank you, Giada.

I have never made prime rib in my life and I made this for Christmas Day dinner. It's easy and delicious! I bought a 3.3 pound prime rib for 4 people-it was the perfect size and took two hours in the oven to reach "medium" -perfect and not overcooked! The garlic-thyme mixture is fabulous! I'm going to use that mixture in other recipes! Bye-bye, Xmas turkey!

I was very nervous to cook a $60 piece of meat, but it was worth every penny! My cut was a little less than 6lbs, so I reduced the temp to 400 for the last hour, and put a little water in the pan to cut back on the smoke from the juices. I only cooked the meat for 1 hr and 45min and it was medium. Also, I could not find arrowroot at my grocery, so I used 6Tbls flour an 3Tbls cornstarch instead--turned out great!

Easy to prep and cook; turned out perfect. I decided to add mushrooms to the sauce and used Sherry versus Marsala since I forgot to buy Marsala. The sauce turned out great as well. Highly recommend this recipe.

I never cooked prime rib before and was a little nervous about it...but this was so easy and so tender you hardly needed a knife.
It will become our new Christmas dinner favorite.

I loved the sauce, I made a little less as it's just me & my husband - used a quarter cup each of broth & marsala wine, along with the beef juices - it came out great, like a tasty au jus. I also used beef half the size & cut the cooking time in half, but I think the cooking temperature is too high - my pan went black in the oven & set the fire alarm off when I opened the oven! Not a great roast beef recipe for me, but I liked the gravy.

Made this for Christmas Eve and was not disappointed. It was my first time making Prime Rib so I followed the recipe exactly-- it was perfect. Didn't love the Marsala sauce, it was a bit too sweet for me but the meat didn't even need it, it was tender and flavorful!

The meat was cooked perfectly. It's the Marsala and Thyme sauce that was dreadful. I had to doctor it up and add more beef stock. Way too much Marsala and way too much Thyme for my taste.
