I also made this and it rocks! I placed under broiler with a touch more honey and chile paste in hot sauce to give it that extra shiney coat of heat and sweetness. It rocked! Thanks Guy,for a non fried chicken wing!

Finally registered with food network just to comment on this dish. Alton's my favorite, among others, but Guy killed with this. Better than any other wings dish I tried on the site! Make it, eat it, savor it!

Outstanding sauce/recipe. Though I used regular chicken legs because I didn't have any wings, marinated them overnight (as compared to up to four hours, and characteristically don't like fresh ginger, Sriracha sauce, or garlic-chili paste because I'm always concerned they are too hot, I absolutely loved this recipe. The ginger added a wonderful background note and chili sauce and paste wasn't overwhelming at all. The heat built up gradually as you ate them. The chicken was just sweet enough, not too salty, and had that wonderful smoky flavor from the grill. I look forward to using the sauce on Chinese noodles, stir-fry, and on the pork butt I'm currently smoking. The heavy snow fall as I was grilling carried the aroma throughout the neighborhood. I didn't get a chance to garnish them before my sons dug in. We will definitely be making this again in the future. Perhaps I'll even try it on wings next time!

Thanks, Guy, for giving all of us a nice alternative to deep fried New York style wings. These had all the flavor and all the crunch without the added fat and calories. I suspect we'll be using this sauce on a lot of things other than chicken wings.

Great Wings -- but more, a great marinade that I can think of countless ways to use. I tested it first, of course. But knew the whole party would love them. I didn't tell them that they were "firecracker"; just that the recipe came from Guy. Even those who would never admit that they would like a "hot wing", raved.

Special thanks to powderpro33 for the sweet soy sauce recipe from Guy's Book. I think it is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy that made everyone come back for more.

Great Recipe! I used an indoor grill heating element on my stove, but realized there was not enough room to cook all of them in time, so instead I threw them all in the oven until they were cooked through, then put back on the grill and basted for a few minutes and covered with the remaining sauce. Here are a few tips that I found to be key in this recipe:

    1. Take the extra sauce and heat it in a pan, add some corn starch and you can create a thicker sauce that goes well over the wings once they are completely done, none of that watery sauce that goes all over the place.
    2. Guy doesn't show the recipe for the sweet soy sauce on this recipe, I actually own his book and his recipe for sweet soy sauce is as follows:

    1 cup soy sauce
    2 tablespoons sesame oil
    1 teaspoon minced garlic
    1 teaspoon minced ginger
    1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
    1/4 teaspoon wasabi powder

The best wings ever! I usually don't care for any sauce on my grilled wings. But, I tried this recipe and WOW! Just tried exact recipe on some baby back ribs and they were delicious too.
I love me some Guy Fieri!!
