Easiest upside down cake I have ever made. I was so glad it didn't stick (came out picture perfect! I only had a 1/4 cup of butter left so I halved the brown sugar to 1/2 cup and then used 1/2 cup of olive oil (in place of the butter for the cake and it still came out fabulous! Thank you Neely's!!!

All the other reviews were right, delicious and sooo simple to put together. I had an 8" so I also used a ramkin, to make a single serving....really great cake! TY Neelys!

EASY and the best Pineapple Upside Down Cake we've ever had...the cornmeal was a great addition to this hum-dum dessert!

Very good! I like the slight crunchiness of the cake (used stone-ground yellow cornmeal. I used a preheated iron skillet, so it made the sides of the cake extra yummy! Only problem I had was the extra butter/sugar mixture came up the sides and boiled down into the oven, so I placed a baking sheet on the bottom rack. (The cake wasn't dry, but it could hold a tiny bit more pineapple juice.

Yummy! despite a few mishaps along the way (bought pineapple chunks instead of rings on accident and my hubby ran water in my dry mix on accident my cake turned out wonderful!!! Has great texture and great taste! A bite of the fruit top and the cake just melts in your mouth!!!! Yuuuuummy! Very tasty dessert! I <3 the Neelys!

I've made a cake like this before but NOT like THIS!!! My husband raved about it...the corn meal (I used white corn meal gave it a wonderful texture. I will certainly make this again...it was really easy and wonderful left-over too. Neely's you've impressed me. Thanks. Veronica from Seattle

Tried to post.... They didn't like, don't fix! Husband will not be impressed, nor will guests! Wasted flour, cornmeal, eggs, sugar, baking powder, pineapple, 2 sticks of butter was so DRY and flavorless! Box cake mix is so good compared to the hassle of this!

Made this today after watching the Neelys on Food Network. To be honest - this is the first time I've made a "homemade cake". It was delicious, especially eaten while warm. The perfect size for a family of 2. Texture is sweet and dense........very flavorful. I will be making it again. It's so easy!
