This recipe was spot on. The batter on the fish was delicious and making the recipe (fries included was easy! We didn't rest the fries overnight in the fridge between cooking and we thought they were still good. I would definitely use this recipe again and recommend it to friends!

Very good recipe, I did cut the salt back to 1/2 and seemed to work. I also used self rising flour, it is all in your choice of breading. The self rising gave a crispy, fluffy shell really, really good recipe.

I loved the batter on the fish but we thought it was very salty. I'll cut the salt by 2/3 the next time. I didn't make the chips but want to try them.

I have made it twice and great results. Quick and easy. For three servings I cut the recipe in half, which leaves no leftovers.

Must be fool proof. If I didn't screw it up, it isn't possible. Delicious and perfecly crispy! I left out the water and added more beer. I also used Talipia because I know absolutely nothing about fish and it worked without any problems. Oh, I also halved the recipe because there were only 2 of us..but I will definately have a fish and chip fry with friends next time!!

This was a really good recipe. I absolutely hate soggy batter on fish that you want to peel off and discard. This was not the case with this recipe. It was a little salty and next time would try it with 2 tbsp on dry and wet. Very tasty.

Fantastic!! Thanks so much to Grant MacNaughton who was so kind to share the recipe! My husband is an avid fisherman and we used this recipe to cook a whole mess of walleye, it was delicious!! Even our English friend said it was top notch. So simple yet so perfect. Definitely will make over and over again!
