They were ok. Maybe I did something wrong cause mine turned out dry. My family did like though but they like anything chocolate and home made.

I just made these brownies for a Super Bowl party and I have to say that I am bummed! They taste like they come from a boxed cake mix with little effort. I followed the recipe exactly. First of all, they didn't rise very much. Secondly, they just don't have that deep, chocoaltey taste like homemade brownies have. If you enjoy store bought baked goods, you will probably like this recipe. If you are an experienced baker, skip this one! None of my family members liked this recipe but they might be spoiled because I never use a boxed mix. I should have followed my instincts!

Given the great reviews, these were very disappointing. As an avid baker, I was hesitant to make something that derived from a box mix and should have trusted my gut. They tasted extremely cheap and artificial (not at all the result I was going for after putting in the time and expense to make them myself, and, even so, I've had much better cheap and artificial brownies. For reference, I followed the recipe to the letter, with the exception of decreasing the amount of caramels used, as per the suggestions of other reviewers. Complete waste of time, money and ingredients. To be honest, I'm a little irked.

Yes they really are THAT special. Agree with other post, use only 40 or so caramels, lets just say one bag of Kraft caramels, perfect. TRICK is being patient and waiting for them to set up. The refrigerator is your friend. They are tall, and will hold together. Cut them into small pieces, they are super rich.

These are really good and moist brownies. Hubby isn't a dessert lover and he had seconds! I only gave it 4 stars because the caramel was overwhelming. (Never thought I'd say too much caramel I will use 40-50 caramel pieces next time and skip the pecans. Then it will be 5 stars for sure!!

I need help! I've made this recipe two times. The second time I got it right by default. Followed the recipe to a T. It comes out super gooey and it wasn't until the next day of sitting on counter that the caramel had sort of set and texture was stiff enough to enjoy all of the layers. Is that anyone else's experience? So now I'm thinking to make it at night for next day's consumption.

I made this recipe last nite and it came out perfect! I use caramel ice cream syrup and mixed it with condense milk, bring to boil and constantly stir until thickened. I use parchment paper to keep brownies from sticking. I also placed top layer of brownie in the freezer to make it easier to work with while making the caramel sauce, This recipe is simple and easy, Will be making this a family tradition.

Really good! Loved the caramel layer. Next time I might stir the chocolate chips in the batter or add chocolate bars on top of the caramel layer. It was easy to shape the top layer dough with my hands.

Best brownies I have ever had. Severed them at a New Years party and everyone loved them. Making them again this weekend for another party!

These were by far the BEST brownies I've ever had. I brought them to my friends place and we devoured them!!! They were pretty easy. The hardest part was opening all the caramels and waiting for them to melt. But trust me it is WELL WORTH THE TIME!!!! So good!!!
