This is so comforting and satisfying on top of being really, really yummy! The first time I made this was for a meal when my family returned from a long day in the woods! It is a memory creator!

We really enjoyed this. I had to make a couple changes. First I substituted Bow-tie pasta for the Orechiette since it doesn't seem to be available around here and I was running late and didn't want to make my own. Secondly, I substituted Italian sausage made from chicken for the chorizo since we don't eat pork. The meal is simple enough to make during the week and simple enough for picky eaters to like it but with fresh tomatoes and fresh mushrooms it satisfies even the more adventurous taste buds.

Couldn't find the Orecchiette in my area (went to two different grocery stores so I used Campanelle, they hold the flavor very well. I also used fresh butchered spicy italian sausage. It comes out to be a very delicious dish that even my father approved of.

Excellent recipe! You can change the spiciness by using different types of sausage. Easy to make. I find that I turn to this recipe more and more.

I made this on the weekend, and used hot italian sausage, with an asiago cheese with spicey peppers in it, it was delicious... would make it again. Thanks Food Network

Absolutely fantastic! Very easy to make and delicious. I only had sweet Italian sausage as well and used campanelle pasta vs. oreccchiette. I will definitely make this again! Thank you Food Network!

We really enjoyed this. Used sweet Italian sausage, as our child does not like spicy, but used extra pepper. Also added some spinach that I had on hand.

This was very flavorful and easy! I made a few mods.....doubled the garlic, used slightly less than the full 1lb of pasta, increased the sausage by 1/2 link (used 2.5 links of spicy Italian sausage. I also added 1/2 cup of peas just for some crunch. Next time, I may even try a splash of white wine, but this recipe was great! Thanks, Food Network!
