WOW! Gooey cheese, combined with tangy kraut and marbled pastrami, topped with a sauce that you want to eat with a spoon... and GRILLED!!! This is pure gourmet genius. Almost too good to be true.
A few food notes - if you have access to good pastrami, it is worth the trip to source the homemade stuff. Katz's deli in NYC makes an amazing pastrami - ask for a big hunk from the ends (they are not dry and get it double wrapped in wax paper and foil to keep you from eating it all on the way home...

And secondly, steal the Russian dressing recipe and use it on all your sandwiches! It's killer with buffalo turkey....

    Thank you, Jeff!

So YUMMY! I'm making them for the second time in two weeks...the Russian dressing is the BEST.

Excellent sandwich. Mixing the Russian dressing with sauerkraut was great idea. Held sandwich together very well. Will make again for sure

Delicious dressing!! Amazed how toasty the sandwich turned, even cooking covered, like instructed. I thought that would make it soggy, but it had the best toasty crunch I've EVER had! My husband raved about how good it was, too!

P.S. Chili sauce doesn't contribute heat. Sounds like someone used too much hot sauce.

Very good, but the dressing had too much chili sauce. I love heat, but not on a rueben.

As Guy would say, you could eat this 1,000 Island Dressing on a flip flop. It's Killer good.

Very Yummy!! So easy my son and I made his first rueben with corned beef. He loved it!! I was surprised that the dressing didn't make it soggy. Think it was the best rueben I've ever had. The dressing was great and I even used it on fish tacos today it was delicious.

The homemade Russian dressing is better than any I have ever made! I could be used on a host of things besides the sandwich. Good job!

Yummy. Also saw the show today and luckily had a corned beef brisket in the fridge for St. Patrick's Day. Decided to cook that for the sandwich instead of getting deli pastrami. Love the combination of the sauerkraut and the Russian dressing (with Cholula for hot sauce. Great sandwich.
