This was very good my husband was skeptical when I first mentioned it. I substituted ground turkey and ground beef and used a pork loin (which I diced very small otherwise followed all the directions. It was SO good he ate 4 servings and we both agreed that this made regular stew obsolete! VERY good will make again - thank you!

Brunswick Stew varies from southern state to state. And it can be very different in taste. Coming from Atlanta where you can find this wonderful stew in so many BBQ joints, I must say that Trisha's daddy's recipe is very authentic to what I remember (I now live in Denver and they have never heard of B Stew here! The stew that I am used to, like Trisha's is smooth - not chunky so this is like a little taste of home. Thank you so much my dear Trisha!!!!

Do not boil or grind your meats (gross instead roast them and the cut into small pieces. It should be Brunswick STEW not puree.

I gave this a 3 because I didn't have the worchestershire sauce and instead used lite soy sauce and 1 tbspn vinegar. It turned out for me the consistency of baby food, as I blended everything the blender because I didn't have a food processor. I'm sure that Trisha's Dads Brunswick Stew was delicious but if you don't have the exact ingredients and a food processor, I wouldn't bother making it. Unless you want to omit processing all together and make a chuncky soup. I was not impressed at all with how mine turned out, but like I said, wasn't able to follow the recipe exact. What I ended up with was "different" and I can't say I even liked the taste. It was just OK. I will salvage it by feezing 3 cups each in zip lock baggies, and use it as a base for other soups in the future.

This is quite possibly the worst thing I've ever tasted. I was so excited after watching the episode, I made it the same afternoon. From the unappetizing color, to the texture, to the "can't quite put your finger on it" taste, this was a colossal waste of time and money. If you feel compelled to make this anyway, perhaps following one reviewer's comment will help - do not grind all the meats. What a major disappointment.

A very good family recipe! But above ALL Trisha was the most wonderful teacher for her young nephews. Warms my heart that she was so kind, sweet and encouraging by actually allowing them to cook with 'hands on' for the Brunswick Stew. Trisha, what a delightful lady you are.

I did, it with some changes. I cooked the meat half chunky, and half grounded and added some onion and garlic for flavor.
