Excellent!!! I remembered my great aunt teaching me this almost exact recipe. I did use one trick she showed me. I used the broth in the making of the dumplings. Sooooo good.

HEY TRISH, YOUR CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS WERE GOOD. BUT NEXT TIME TRY THIS INSTEAD OF USING WATER USE THE BROTH THAT YOU HAVE LET IT GET REAL COLD, THEN PUT SALT AND PEPPER IN YOUR FLOUR AND MIX WITH A FORK. THEN POUR IN THE
BROTH AND THEN ROLL THEM OUT. YOU WILL LIKE THIS BECAUSE IT GIVES THE DUMPING THE CHICKEN FAVOR. TRY IT. DEBBIE TURNER

i liked this receipe because it was simple. i did jazz it up a bit by adding grated onion, garlic, finely chopped celery and 1 chicken boullion cube. my family enjoyed it and its something i would make again on a chilly rainy day.

My husband being a southern boy was excited to see a chicken and dumpling recipe on tv this morning, so we made it tonight, and loved it. The broth was flavorful, the chicken moist, and the dumplings a great texture. I will definitely make this again!

It's a good Base recipe to dress up and play with, but on it's own as is it's very bland and not "hearty" enough for my family. I prefer Sunny's Chicken and Dumpling recipe better.

This recipe for chicken and dumplings was too bland and my family did not like it. I am from the south and known for my chicken and dumplings. Not very good and I will stick with my own recipe for chicken and dumplings

Trisha, your chicken and dumplings recipe is so good and easy. I make it your way but put a little SC into the mix with the addition of onion, fresh garlic, celery, and carrots plus spinach chiffonades and a splash of cream to finish with richness. The lazy girl way is to buy a precooked deli chicken, canned stock, and slice up bought wonton wrappers and then prepare as fresh with the veggies and cream....but that's our secret here in Beaufort, y'all!

Delicious! My husband and I had this for dinner. I think I will add the garlic and carrots next time. I love Trisha's new show.

Whoa now that is SIMPLE! Being half cajun I cant stop there, it has to have onions, celery and garlic too! I also add a pack of chicken necks when cooking the chicken as the skin adds great chicken flavor for pennies. Good to see Trisha on FN!
