I didn't use the waffle portion of the recipe, but the chicken was amazing and the spicy maple butter was a delicious dipping sauce!

I made this recipe to the T except no tomatillos. It was absolute heaven to eat. The scallions in the waffles were perfect and the spicy maple butter was a true complement to the sandwich. It was so big that we didn't put a waffle top on it. The waffles were really nice and fluffy and crispy (I always used butter instead of oil but oil is good. Truly restaurant quality. Way to go!!

These are a little time-consuming, but they are well worth every minute you put into preparing them. We had leftover chicken tenders that I froze and heated in the oven for lunch one day - the seasoning on them is just out of this world. It's smokey and salty (in a good way. Very addictive! The waffles were incredibly delicious, light, and fluffy. The scallions were a nice addition and perfect for making the waffles a great pair with the chicken. The spicy maple butter was also great. I unfortunately wasn't able to find a good tomatillo at the grocery store, so they were left out.

Umami! I have yet to try any recipe from Jeff Mauro that was anything shy of perfect. This is so good; I can't believe I waited this long to try it. I could eat this every night.

Loved it! No need to add any extra salt to the chicken - plenty of that in the spices. This has been added to our weekly "must haves" for breakfast, lunch or dinner!

Great recipe! I made it for dinner, for something different. A little spicy, but not too spicy. My kids and husband liked it, so it's a keeper! I even forgot to add the tomatillos - but still great!

I made it as a quick breakfast, using chicken breast strips, substituting homemade waffles for frozen ones and cooked spinach instead of tomatillos. It was a FANTASTIC parade of flavor combinations and textures that made perfect sense! The juicy chicken, sweet, salty and spicy melted butter, along with the savory waffle and spinach made for one SUPER TASTY, AMAZING sandwich. Thanks, Jeff! Keep up the great work!!
