One of my favorites, I've made this about 3 times now. I have yet to get the potatoes to cook well, but the chicken is so good! Maybe I need a thinner layer of potato or precook them to some degree. I've shared this and everyone loves it!

I'm not a big fan of chicken thighs, however, Alton has won me over because I do love olives. I just finished eating this for the first time but it won't be my last. A definite keeper recipe.
I never used smoked paprika before so I didn't know what to expect. I found it added a slight smokey yummy taste to the chicken and potatoes.
    Super dish - Thanks Alton

best thing I ever ate ??? NO how about worst thing ive ever ate !!! I watched the show the best thing I ever ate and this recipe really stuck out to me so u was so excited to try it ... Well the outdoors were good but soggy and some burnt , but the chicken was so disgusting I try to remove the olive mixture but it still was horrible , the lemon zest with the ignore
olives made it taste like dish soap... I ended up having to make something else for dinner , and even the smell of the left overs makes me want to puke . DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS RECIPE!!!!!

A lot of prep for a mediocre dish. I expected this to be amazing after watching Alton make this on "The Best Thing I Ever Made" episode. It was bland.

This was fanfreakin'tastic and quite easy to make.
I substituted cauliflower for the potatoes and they came out perfect.
Ate it straight from the oven, and it only gets better as it rests.
I think I'll add a bit of parmesan cheese to the olive mixture next time.

Simple to make and very dlicious will make it again. Made everything as instructed, however, my wife loves her veggies so I added some carrots and brussel sprouts below the chicken. Yum!

We loved this recipie, chicken was moist with crunchy skin. The potatoes were the best ever. This is an easy recipie to follow, and super tasty.

Sorry Alton I consider myself a pretty good cook, this recipe did not do well. Followed it step by step, potatoes did not cook and the chicken was very dry before I got it up to temp. Your still my fav tho

I made this tonight, cutting the recipe down to 1/3. It was fairly easy (though a bit messy and it roasted off quite well. It's a great way to use thighs! I really liked the potatoes and onions underneath. I used regular Idaho bakers in lieu of Yukon Golds, and they worked out well. Easy enough to memorize and revisit.

I really enjoyed this recipe. My potatoes, didn't taste to good, kinda flat, but the chicken was really good, even my son who is a picky eater loved it. I read one of the reviews that said they would add garlic to the paprika paste, I agree. I will do that next time.
