I have made steel-cut oats before, but this is hands down the BEST I have ever had! I believe that toasting the steel-cut oats beforehand makes a huge difference when it comes to flavor. I did not have strawberries, so I added farm-fresh peaches instead - WOW! My hubby and I absolutely LOVED it and I will definitely do this recipe again. Thanks Jamie!

I've made steel-cut oats before but this recipe makes the best batch! Toasting the steel oats before adding the liquid added great flavor. I've made the recipe a couple of times now, changing the fruit or leaving it out all together. I add a little milk and water to any leftovers for a quick breakfast on a weekday.

Today was my first time ever making steel cut oats and this recipe is simple and super good... will definitely make this more often!

This is so much better than the way I was preparing my steel cut oats. I used skim milk and Splenda brown sugar. I never got around to putting in the fruit, and yet it still was so delicious. Will definitely make again, with or without the fruit.
