This salsa is delicious! My family keeps asking for it over and over again. It is fresh and the perfect spice. You would never guess it has canned tomatoes in it. Use a smaller pepper if you want it less spicy. I have made it twice and used a bit more garlic the second time--perfect!

My first time really making anything and it went awesome! My college roommate and I ate two bags of chips and an entire 64 oz pitcher of this stuff during one all nighter...I added a bit more of the flavor givers. I did not find this to be TOO spicy, but rather the perfect amount of spice. It really builds on you. Overall I believe the total price for all the incrediants was around 8 dollars for 64 oz of homemade delicious salsa..I say that is a pretty good deal.

Excellent! It's very spicy - the next time I make it I will remove some of the seeds and membranes. I've always purchased the fresh salsa from Sam's Club....no more! This is very, very good.

Amazing! I went to a Mexican place after eating some of this and it was better than theirs, I was shocked!

It's better than me actually using fresh tomatoes and it's a whole lot easier!! I used a can of Mexican rotel and regular with 1/2 a jalapeno and it was spicy. Daughter and I liked it, but the hubby thought it was a little to much heat. I think the next time I make it I will use to cans regular Rotel and leave out the jalapeno. I also had to add more salt but that's just personal preference. This will be made over and over.

The title says it all. A very, very good salsa; just like at a restaurant!

Since spicy is subjective, if you like mild, pull out the seeds/membrane of the jalapeno. I only put in 1/4 of the seeds/membranes and it was hot for "most" of the family. This is the first time that I've used Rotel, so I can't comment on the heat of that product since I didn't taste it first. When I discovered the salsa was too spicy for the majority of us, I removed about 2 cups of the salsa for the "heat lovers" to munch on. Then I added a 14.5 oz. can of diced tomatoes to the rest of the batch. I also added a small can of crushed pineapple, drained, and the other half of the lime juice. I then adjusted the seasonings to balance out the original recipe. It was very good. Next time, I will test the heat of the Rotel and decide if I want one or two cans and will definitely leave out the seeds and membranes of the jalapeno. It makes a huge batch, so you could easily make a portion of it spicy and the other portion not.

This recipe got 2 thumbs up from everyone in the family! I made the whole recipe, but before adding jalapenos I separated it into 2 containers: One with no jalapeno for the the wimps the other had 2 jalapenos for my sons who like their food spicy spicy! Like other reviewers I doubled the garlic, cumin, cilantro, and lime juice. I would rate this salsa a medium on the heat scale as it is written, but you could easily make it mild by using mild rotel with no jalapeno, or spicy by adding as much jalapeno as you like.

This recipe is fantastic! Everybody loved it. I only used one can of Rotel and it was the perfect level of spicy. I also used dried cilantro, onions, garlic, and jalapeños because i have a ton of that in my pantry. It worked perfectly after it sat in the fridge all day. I don't have a large food processor so I threw it in the blender. Worked perfectly. Will never buy pre-made salsa again.

This was the best salsa I've ever made and will probably be the only one I ever bother using again... It reminded me of the salsa that Chili's serves... Soooo good and not hard at all to make!

This is the best of the best salsa..think ChiChi's Restaurant Salsa (not the store bought junk what they served in the restaurant..this is very close...We live in Cozumel MX in the winter and I made it several times this winter for dinners/potlucks and everyone raved about it...entire recipe one night scarfed down by 3 couples. This is fantastic and easy-peasy to make, have a blender and you are ready to go..this will become a family classic...
