This has become a favorite at my house. I use white kidney beans instead of red just because that is what my family likes. I love to take the left over to work for lunch.

This was the best soup. I made it for a get together we had and everyone wanted the recipe. It was all gone and some wanted to take some home.

Believe the reviews and follow this recipe as stated. It's perfection. I've made it for dinner, for friends, and for neighbors. Everyone loves it and wants the recipe. I've made a lot of recipes by Trisha and haven't had a flop yet. Thanks for making me look good!

Made this for a soup party - it's a great tasting soup, pretty much followed the recipe except added an extra can of corn and kidney beans. and I used fat-free half and half and light sour cream. I also wouldn't crumble the chips in the bowl first -- they got soggy that way, I would just add on top along with the cheese and sour cream. It will be a hit if you had to bring it somewhere.

Simple to make and delicious! I followed this recipe exactly. (other than substituting hominy as I did not have corn I used my favorite salsa (Hell on the Red and this added just the right amount of heat. I didn't have the fajita seasoning packet but did have McCormick's fajita seasoning, which I added approx 2 tsp. My kids, my husband & I loved it. Will definitely make this again & again & again.... Thank you Trisha!

I absolutely love this soup! I followed the recipe to a T the first time I tried it (except for the cream- substituted milk because I didn't have that on hand and honestly it was just as wonderful. I don't like buying the seasoning packets from the store because of the preservatives and excessive salt so I made my own fajita season, also I have made this soup several times without the cream of chicken. I don't feel it really adds anything to it. The soup didn't change in flavor at all. Instead of using cheese and chips I used tortilla's, just line the bottom of your bowl with one- gives it the same richness!

Good soup, making it today..I did cut down on half n half and broth, used one 32 oz carton broth and 3 cups half n half, I also added one more can of beans, some green chilis, and a little more chile powder(we like spicy...If you let it simmer longer than it says it will thicken up ! good soup for a cold winter night!
