This is definately a keeper! My whole family loves it and it's so easy to make! You can change out the meats and cheeses for your favorites, easy to make ahead and reheat. I put the butter mixture on the inside of bun and put sandwich under the broiler, I find it not so messy to eat this way Thanks for sharing!

I love this recipe - it's a new favorite of mine! One of the things I like best is how versatile it is. I've made it several times with several variations - dark wheat rolls, potato rolls, sharp cheddar cheese, garlic instead of chives, etc. - and it's been delicious every time. This is a simple recipe but a great one, particularly for party finger food or a relaxed weeknight meal. (I particularly love them for dinner with some cream of tomato soup!

A winner, they are requested once I make them. My daughter-in-law is very particular about her favorite sandwich and this one is the best.,

Sandwiches were delicious. Easy to make. Only downside is Gruyere cheese is very pricey. Recommend making great for parties. My 2 year old even loved these.

After seeing the show I was excited to make this recipe, but after reading some of the comments I was hesitant. I should not have been hesitant. These were delicious. I made them for as a snack for me and my brother and we both loved them. I'll definitely make them again.

This sandwich was for RAW onion lovers! Since I can't stand raw onion that's ALL I could taste (I figured the onion would cook but it remained raw tasting and my whole house smelled like onion until the next day... so, I scraped all the onion crust off the top, then the sandwich was actually good, but not worth $25,000. Also, the sandwich is greasy with all the butter poured over everything (but it's 'nearly' an awesome go-to for finger foods...hints of stardom I think so I will make it again but with no raw onion and replace that with a garlic butter melt then brush it on the top PLUS double the meat for a more rounded flavor profile. I will report back once the adjustments have been made. 8

Can't believe this girl won $24000 for this Recipe.
I have been making them for the past few years.
The Recipe has been featured in Magazines and Newspapers.
Her Recipe is a direct knockoff of Published Recipes.
Unbelieveable that she would be rewarded for such an unoriginal recipe!

the maker of the recipe did say that she originally made the sandwich with dijion and not cream cheese. I havent tried the recipe yet but plan on making it because of the technigue of being able to have many hot sandwiches ready at the same time. I think you can play with the recipe a bit to suit you tastes although, the butter with that shreaded onion topping is a must imo. I would probably like a mayo/dijion combo and not the cheam cheese. I think it would compliment the gruyere/or swiss better. All and all the maker knows good food and you could feel the love when watching her with her creations.

I'd give this 5 stars by amending the recipe by increasing ham to 12-16 oz. and decrease the cream cheese mixture by 25-50%. Flavors are delicious!

These were very yummy and I'm glad they were for as much as the cheese cost. : The amount of ham listed in the recipe was definitely no where near enough for my sandwiches. I would double the amount.
