Best turkey ever. I totally freaked that it wouldn'd be fully cooked. I added lemon and orange slices under the breast skin and tarragon. It was moist, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection. Winner winner turkey dinner! How do I do a chicken using this method?

A skeptic but now a believer. This is seriously a no muss--no fuss recipe. Although a tight fit, turkey was cooked in an old, heavy, oval-shaped Dutch oven with dome-shaped glass lid. I was surprised to see the golden brown skin and even more surprised that no knife was needed as meat literally fell off the bones as I lifted it into a clean roasting pan for refrigeration. Total time to "deconstruct" turkey and set aside celery mix and drippings to make dressing and gravy later was 15 minutes! Only disclaimer: if you want a whole turkey to carve at the table or if you are looking for extra crispy skin, then this is not the recipe for you. However, in my opinion, the ease in post-prep as well as the moist, tender meat is worth the trade-off.

Moist and delicious! The turkey was falling off the bone. I was nervous about this turkey actually cooking, but what a wonderfully easy recipe. I used a roasting pan with a lid and I think that is the key to getting some browning on the turkey. I used the pan juices and added white wine, chicken broth and a butter/flour paste to make a yummy gravy too.

I was really skeptical to try this for this thanksgiving but boy we are glad I did. It was wonderful!! I only did a few things different...I chopped up herbs and made a compound butter for the inside and outside..and I used chicken broth instead of water for the pan. I will always do my turkey this way. Thanks Trisha

I had never heard of cooking a turkey this way. After watching the show I was very exicted to give it a try. It was funny because the next day on a Sunday some of these recipes was in the US Today insert in my paper.
Well I tried I was worried, but I have to say it turned out better than any turkey I have ever cooked. It was moist juicy and browned to perfection. I got rave reviews and was asked to never cook it any other way again. Thanks Trish I also tried the Sweet Poatoe Souflee and the Stuffing with rave reviews My dinner was a huge success

With a little hesitation I tried this method and could not have been more pleased and surprised. It was very tender and moist and I couldn't believe how golden brown it had become. Will be using this way to cook turkey from now on.

I've been roasting turkey for north of 46 years and never heard of this method until I watched Trisha's show. I tried it and it is a winner. My turkey was cooked and so tender I didn't need a carving knife to take it apart. I wish it had browned a little more on the top but like a previous writer, I didn't have a lid and used foil. Not sure if that was the difference but I do know I want a red roaster like TY uses. I have searched all over the web for one. No luck but great turkey

This has to be the best way to cook a Turkey. Never have I ever had such a moist turkey and so easy to cut up since it just falls off the bone. I did see her add fresh rosemary chopped to the butter and I did it. The taste was just a hint of rosemary and not overpowering. My daughter tried this recipe but she did not have a pan with a lid, instead she wrapped heavy foil which she doubled all over the bird and it came out just fine. I am going to tell everybody about this one. Thanks, Trisha!

My hubby was Very Skeptical, yet curious, about this recipe. But I was so excited to try this recipe!! I like!! Great recipe!!! Awesome!!! BEST TURKEY EVER!!!!!!!!! Moist, flavorful and tender!! I did not need to carve it as it was falling off the bone. I like Trisha's music and very cook's recipes.
