My husband had family over for a hunting trip so I tried this out on them. The guys would not shut up about them. Even my 8 year old who only loves Grands was ga-ga over them. I've seen some lower ratings. I am pretty sure it is only because they charge so much for shipping the bisqit mix. Saying that - I'm willing to pay it to get compliments like these. Thanks Grandma Williams!

I'm originally from the South and these are the best biscuits I've ever tasted! I've tried different biscuit mixes with this recipe, but now I see why Grandma Williams used the Atkinson's. Thanks for sharing this recipe with us Sunny!

Great biscuits! In Richmond, I found Southern Biscuit mix with Golden Shortening Flakes (butter flakes in the mix at our local Food Lion - $3.99 for 3.4 lbs. Makes great biscuits - lots of oohs & aahs at Thanksgiving!

I received my Atkinson's mix w/butterflakes last week and just got around to making biscuits this morning. I must say they were awesome! I was sold when they took the pan out of the oven, tapped it and the biscuits actually did a little shimmy. We'll be eating these quite often. I intend to impress company with them soon.

I was also shocked at the shipping price. I was going to order 3 bags which was $9.90 but the shipping was $16.97. Too expensive. I found butterflake biscuit mix at GFS, gonna see if it is the same thing.

Otherwise, looking forward to finding trying this.

Need the mix. That's where all the baking powder and flavor is. Tried cutting in butter, but it wasn't enough. Looked at ordering the mix. It's only a few bucks a bag, but $13 to ship. Back to Bisquick.

I am so glad she uses this mix! Makes me like her even more! I've used multiple products from this company... They also make a cinnamon mix that is great! And for those that want a good pastry and don't have the time to roll it out, they also have a frozen pastry! google atkinson milling company you can order from the site or call over the phone and talk to one of the owner's or managers directly

Atkinson's Biscuit Mix comes from a Grist Mill in Eastern North Carolina called Atkinson Milling Company. I called this morning and they told me the best way to order it is through the website and they can ship it to you via UPS. This stuff is delicious!!!
