Even with a little improvising, this is a wonderful holiday dessert. I was challenged on finding the dried fruit. I used dried cranberries, dried apricots and dried cherries which are not candied. I also used Pillsbury crossaint rolls. Put them all together with the whiskey sauce Oh My Goodness do you have a wonderful dessert. I hope to make this a tradition every Christmas! Super thanks Paula!

This was a big hit at our Christmas party today. Don't even think of eating this without making the whiskey sauce to go along with it! Perfect pairing.

This was a big HIT! I eliminated the 8 oz of cherries and 1 cup of the walnuts (to cut down the 'fruitcake' feel- for those who think they don't like the taste!! I put a cherry on the top of each piece before I baked it. Even the pickiest eaters loved it -- the biggest part is the wonderful whiskey sauce. I drove decorated plates around to 6 different homes and delivered 'Christmas Bread Pudding with Whiskey Cream Sauce' to spread the Christmas Cheer!

I watched this episode this morning. It looked delicious! And I don't like fruit cake type desserts. However, I have to admit this "Fruitcake" is great! Great invention Paula. I'm sure that my husband will enjoy this. I did alter the recipe, I didn't use 12 cups of crossiants. I used about 8 jumbo because the market didn't have large. Use your own judgment, do not put too many. (probaly 8 to 10 cups.Regardless this is a great alternative to the traditional dry fruitcake.
