Peanuts burned. I had a 7 qt black crock pot as well. I don't know if I will try again because it is too expensive to ruin.

EVERYTHING was burnt, and the whole house smells terrible. I am VERY disappointed because this wasn't cheap. In all, I think I just threw away $25-$30. Not happy at all.

Trisha I loooove your recipes usually, but this was also a bust for me :( this morning my 6 year old watched the program with me and begged me to add this to our christmas basket gifts and it was as the others put a burnt mess. I think it depends on the crock pot, so next time I will just do the double boiler method. I got nothin but love for ya girl so will continue to use and share your recipes : XXOO -Amy

ok first thinks first, the almond bark she is using is white chocolate used to make almond bark not almond bark itself. It says on the package "make your own ALMOND BARK". I used white chocolate chips because they didn't have that particular package at the store. I also have an allclad crockpot with a cast iron nonstick insert and it usually cooks things in half the time of the crockery type crock pots but not this time. I did as instructed and on low it took 6 hours to melt all the chocolate but did not burn the nuts. I ended up with 46 wonderful chocolate cups of wonder that my friends will love. You can melt the chocolate in the crock pot or in a double boiler and just add the nuts, really the nuts are already roasted since it calls for dry roasted and salted nuts. This method of cooking is supposed to save you time but if you are scared of burned nuts or soggy nuts just melt the chocolate and add the nuts at the end.

My 7 year old daughter watched the show yesterday and thought it would be great to make to take to her school Christmas party. I am glad we tested it first because we also had the peanuts burn in some areas and it made way more than what we needed. Anyway another problem was that the cups/liners were greasy so I need to make sure an use foiled cups and half the recipe and definitely cut down the cooking time. My husband suggested I roast the peanuts in the oven and just mixed everything in the microwave slowly. I probably will work with the recipe some because we all enjoyed the areas that did not burn and I will add marshmallows or other items to make a variety.

I watched the show, printed the recipe and followed it to the letter. I have never made such a mess! The peanuts burned black. I wasted a lot of expensive ingredients and I am not sure if I will ever get my slow cooker clean again. Right now I am so angry I may never even watch Trisha's show again!

Burned peanuts here as well, and chocolate probably heated too long. I stopped it after about 2 hours. Could salvage most, but worried someone will get a very burned bit I missed. I would have used blanched peanuts instead of roasted. I'd do stovetop method or microwave if doing it again.

My peanuts didn't burn but they were soft, almost mushy. The chocolate was grainy. Would adding some butter have made them smoother. I've thought of covering them with melted chocolate and pretending they were faux truffles. Disappointed -- wish I could have made only half the recipe.
