I know it is not a traditional cobbler but, it was supper easy and my whole family LOVED it. Can not wait to make again.

Initially I was nervous about NOT mixing the butter into the batter but it turned out great! Cake-like cobbler that everyone in my family enjoyed! We served it with vanilla ice cream rather than whipped cream but I'm sure either (or both would be great. I'll definitely make this recipe again.

The only reason I rate this as three stars instead of five is because this is not actually a cobbler... this is what my family calls a "Poor Boy." The difference is that it's more like a dump cake than a cobbler. Traditionally, a cobbler is a pastry crust or crumble topping a thickened fruit filling. Both a Poor Boy and a Cobbler are good but they are two different things! So, if you're looking for a yummy, easy fruit dessert, this is your ticket! But if you want an actual cobbler, you may be mislead by the name!

This cobbler was good and easy. I will definitely add more peaches next time. I did add cinnamon and nutmeg to the syrup before I poured it into the dry ingredients. I will definitely do it again.

I'm 6th generation Oklahoman and I got this recipe from my Grandma Irene. However, we double the crust and my husband pours milk over it.

Made this for a friend's family and it was delicious. Perfect for spring/summer dessert! It was sweet but not to sweet and the fresh whipped cream was so easy and the perfect finishing touch. Great job Trisha! Will look for more of your recipes to make :
