A bit bland...had to add a lot of extra seasonings

I love this chili! I'm not a chili fan and thought the recipe sounded strange, but the carrots are a delicious addition, crunchy and fresh tasting. Adding the veg makes a difference. It's wonderful the way Trisha has it, with the cornbread in the bowl first, chili on top. Love her show.

I love the milder - but very tasty - flavor and added vegetables in this recipe. We prepared it for the first time for company for the Super Bowl and have already made it again. With cornbread it is a complete and healthy meal. It is delicious when re-heated as left-overs. We like to top with grated cheddar cheese, chopped green onion, and sour cream.

Well looking at the ingredients at a glance I figured I needed to add more flavor so I added some chopped onion and instead of the chilli powder I added 2 envelopes of McCormicks Chilli. I also added a green bell pepper and salt and pepper to taste and after cooking that down, I add just a little ketchup right before I eat it. It was really delicious!

Again, tried this, not really any sort of identity other than non-descript. Added some chopped bacon to the beef, then added a regular spanish onion, eliminated the green onion and found it not bad, just missing some additional seasonings. I think next time I would add some oregano and some chipolte chili powder and definitely some cumin. Cumin missing from chili makes the chili a non chili recipe.

i thought it was very easy to make! i bought a bag of shredded carrots which saved me chopping myself: it as lacking a little flavor so i threw in some seasoning salt lemon pepper and thought a litte more chili powder and brown sugar would hook it up which it did: easy and tasty it was a success!

Terrible! Thank goodness I tested it before feeding it to my family.
    Threw it out!
Tasted terrible- not at all like any chili I have made or ate.
I don't recommend it to anyone, waste of ingredients.
    Very disappointed

Really liked this. The carrots are a great addition. I only added one tbsp of chili powder, I thought 2 looked like a lot. I thought that came out great, but, I don't like things to be spicy.

Made this for the family and they all loved it! The carrots and veggies are a nice addition and tasted great! Fancy Chili is the perfect name for this dish, with the extra ingredients for more flavor, not your plain ol' chili here!
