While I want to love this soup, I found it so peppery that I had a hard time finishing it. Has anyone else noticed that this recipe calls for too much pepper? Please respond as I love Ina's recipes but just can't figure out why it tasted like I was having a shaker of pepper with my soup. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

WOW! Made this for the first time tonight as part of a Spanish dinner night and it was fabulous! So delicious! My whole family loved it and I think I even liked it better than my usual pea soup I make with dried peas and it sure is easier and faster to make! The crisp prosciutto was wonderful with it and looked pretty as a garnish on the side of the bowl! I used Cascadia Farms frozen peas because I find the to taste the best. I will definitely make this again and again!

Great recipe! My boyfriend and I loved this soup. He loves peas, but has never liked pea soup because of the texture. I convinced him to try this one, and he was very skeptical, despite loving Ina's food. As instructed, I did not fully puree the soup to give it more texture. However, I only added 1 3/4 bags of the peas to the stock... following the puree, I added the other 1/4 bag so there were more whole peas. My boyfriend LOVED the soup, and wasn't bothered by the texture. Highly recommend!!!

This recipe was so delicious and super easy! Using the frozen peas was not only much easier than waiting for split peas to hydrate, and it has a prettier color and a fresher taste than split pea soup.

So easy and satisfying. This is the first recipe I used my new immersion blender on and it was a great first dish. It has a lot of good flavor, I was afraid it would be just really green but it had nice savory flavor. It is filling, I agree with the other reviewer that if you pair with a sandwich it can be a smaller sandwich.

Amazing soup!! I'm not a fan of pea soup, but my husband is. I made it for him and it was absolutely delicious!! I am NOW a fan. Anything of Ina's is wonderful and this recipe was not a disappointment.

I love pea soup. This soup was SO easy and really delicious. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes. I used store bought chicken stock and it was just fine! I also used an immersion blender. If you have to use a regular blender it probably does take a bit more time. The crispy prosciutto really adds to the dish! Yum. I love Ina's recipes and this is one of the easiest.

So, I used store chicken stock and at first had only 20 oz of peas, oops math error added the next 10 oz , used a blender, crispy prosciutto on top and Cascadian farms peas. Awesome. Really quick to throw together. I simmered for a little longer 20 min, but that could be because of my late add. Ina once again rocks it.

Good, fast, and pretty. Made it the second time with half peas and half pre-steamed edamame. Still had enough sweetness from the peas, just healthier. Great addition to soup and sandwich meals as it's filling, and the sandwiches can be smaller portions. Also made with a spiral of crisped pancetta on top. Nice presentation.
