I have made this chili several times, and it is truly wonderful--just spicy enough. I crumble a little sweet cornbread on top with some grated cheese, and it's one of my family's favorites. I also leave out the beans, because in Texas, you don't use beans--that's a stew, not a chili:

Chili was delicious made it exactly like recipe except added chopped celery and didn't have jalapeno so used a poblano. Was apprehensive about the cocoa but did use both tablespoons. Chili is thicker and warmer than my go to recipe but my husband loved it and will now be my new GO TO chili recipe.
