Delish!!! Although.. I really hope she starts to work outside the box a little..love her dishes with a passion but it seems shes recycling the same ingredients over and over now. Doesn't have to be crazy but come on.. every dessert is made with raspberries.. or strawberry jam.. this girl can cook.. so take us somewhere exotic!

Fabulous!!! As some have said, cakes from scratch are generally better but I have to say that my husband who is very picky about his cakes was extremely pleased,as I was. As to the chocolate chips, I didn't think they were overpowering at all, maybe because I used the mini chocolate chips since that's what I had on hand. Also, I found the frosting to be easy to spread and that could have been because I used the ingredients at room temperature rather than cold from the refrigerator. The only small problem I had was that when I had the cake assembled I realized I hadn't done anything with the tablespoon of cake mix and chocolate chips that I had reserved as instructed. If I remember the TV broadcast correctly, I think I should have mixed it in the raspberry/chocolate filling? Anyway, even without it I'll definitely add this recipe to my "keepers".

I made this for my husband birthday party and it came out moist and delicious. I read the reviews and I did not use the chocolate chips in the recipe. But it still came out perfect. Another great recipe Giada. Thank you.

The frosting is to die for. When I make it again, I'll make the cake from scratch. I'm not against box mixes, they just don't compare to the real thing and with a frosting this good....you need home made cake!

Very chocolaty and rich dessert. Tastes like a professional chocolate cake you'd buy at the bakery. Pretty delicious but like the other reviewer, I think the chocolate chips in the cake batter are overkill. I'd leave them out and maybe add fresh raspberries in the middle of the cake along with the puree/frosting blend. I also had a hard time working with the frosting. It was dense but decadent!

Made this yesterday and it ended up being a huge hit! Next time I think I will bake the cake from scratch rather than a box. My husband requested more raspberry next time, but 8 thought it was plenty. I love the recipe for the frosting. This will be my go-to chocolate frosting from now on!

Very rich dessert. I would cut down on the chocolate chips. I would add more than 3/4 cup of chocolate frosting to the raspberry for more filling. Overall, easy and tasty dessert.

I mixed the raspberry puree with the frosting and it came out like soup. It just poured down the side of the cake. I followed the directions explicitly so I don't know what happened. I've found in the past that the Food Network often makes mistakes when they put the recipe on the internet. This may have been one of those times.
