Great, easy recipe. I made this for dessert for Christmas Eve this year and it was a hit! I prepared mine the day before and it did not get soggy, if anything the flavor was better. Will definitely make this again!

Great recipe - I disagree with the review to put together when ready to serve. I did this (really didn't want to with quests there and thought it tasted almost better the next day; the flavors really set in and it wasn't soggy.

You can use frozen lemonade (or limeade concentrate, thawed, as a substitute, Cindy. I've done this for several other recipes calling for Limoncello. I actually prefer the limeade, and use twice what is called for in order to really taste the tang!

Easy to make and very good. I found best to eat right away, but of course
that was no problem. Linda it calls for 3 cups whol;e milk RICOTTA CHEESE !!!!!
hope you see this so you can try, good luck.

Can anyone suggest a non-alcoholic substitute? I missed this episode but this dessert sounds yum-o but want it to be kid friendly! I didn't know you had to rate to post a review so I said good since I haven't made it yet.

This was great but I did a few things different the second time I made it.

1 Do not let this sit long before eating it. Make the mixture ahead of time and chill in the fridge. Then when it's time to serve it... assemble then eat for best results and to avoid sogginess.

2 Add some limoncello (about 1 shot into the cake filling mixture as well as brushing it on the cake. I found by doing that it gave a more lemon flavor throughout the entire meal. When it was just brushed on the cake... I found myself tasting lemon in some bites and not others.

However; this was great, quick, easy, and if you use a non alcoholic substitute for the limoncello, this is great to make and eat with yer kids, fun, messy and no matter how bad it looks, it will still taste great. Though they will have a massive sugar high HAHA!

    Enjoy

I served this with a dollop of cool whip and fresh blueberries. Everyone loved it. I loved how simple it was to prepare.
