I made this recipe exactly as written and found the nice sirloin steaks I purchased were utterly ruined by the lack of seasoning in the cooking process and the lemon "sauce" tasted strange on the meat. The white bean mash was very bland as well. I love all types of food and like to try new things, but this was very disappointing. I will not make this again.

This recipe for the white bean mash was awesome. I added a couple of tablespoons of horseradish just before serving, it added a whole new dimension of flavor. Combined with the sweetness of the garlic and the freshness of the lemon the horseradish added just the right amount of HMMM!!! what is that flavor?

I made this for my husband and I and it was so yummy. The beans had wonderful flavour though eat them all because leftovers were not that great! The steak was so easy although the oil was a little much for me! Overall it was easy and inexpensive.

Cooking up the beans and steaks took, maybe, five minutes from start to finish (seriously, the "hardest" part was opening the cans and rinsing the beans. Once completed, you had this great meal that you could serve to almost anyone! I loved the flavor the lemon and garlic added to the beans and the olive oil and lemon added to the steaks. I will definitely be making (and enjoying this recipe again! Nigella for the win! :-

I did this with a thin-cut ribeye. It is something like my mom would have made in the '5o's but the lemon seems to elevate the flavors. It's so simple and comforting. Everyone raved.

I made this entire recipe for myself and 3 family members that stopped by. Instead of sirloin I found this cut rib eye at the store - but followed Nigella's recipe completely and it was DELICIOUS!!!!! I added roasted broccoli and yeast rolls but what a quick and delicious meal. Nigella keep those recipes coming - thankyou!
