I mde this dinner for prom, and it tasted amazing! the thing that goes really well with this is broiled potatoes with rosemary, olive oil, salt, and fresh cracked triple pepper corn that is also used on the steak! I made it instead of going out to dinner for me, my date, and the other couple, and they all loved it! the side dish we made was a spinach, and romain lettuce salad with strawberrys, blackberrys, and mangos. everything tasted amazing and made for the perfect prom dinner!

But it wasn't! The sauce is very tasty in the end and not too balsamic-y. My husband and I love bacon, so this was a definite hit with us!

I love bacon, but this recipe is just strong bacon flavor that covers up the taste of the steak rather than complementing it. WAY too strong! I guess if you have a really bad cut of meat, this might be a way to go to salvage it....

Sauce is just okay. Didn't care for it much. The steak alone had no flavor and was very bland.

I have gone out to many of steakhouse and I have never had a steak/w a sauce as wonderful as this. However, you have to like your steak with a sauce, to appreciate this recipe. Anyone who likes a steak as a steak only may have a problem with it, because the sauce does overpower the steak flavor. I would recommend a high quality of steak than flank, I used sirloin. I too added mushooms to the sauce.

I served the recipe with garlic smashed potatoes, veggies and a salad. What a perfect balance!

I can not wait to serve this dish at a dinner party.

Everyone loved this one! I added some portobello mushrooms to the bacon and I thought it added some needed texture. I'd recommend it.

I was really disappointed in this recipe after reading all the raves about it. It just wasn't that great.
