I made this sauce with the Marone Meatballs. Made a few changes, I reduced the amount of oil, added a bit more salt and used my own jarred tomato sauce instead of the canned tomatoes. It made a huge difference with the texture of the sauce. It was great with my Italian bread and the meatballs.

It's simmering right now, and my whole Fla. condo has the wonderful aroma of all-day cooked sauce! Made the meatballs yesterday and they are fantastic! My hero and I can't wait to dig in, but from samples so far nothing needs to change!!

OMG! This is the BEST recipe for meatballs and sauce we have ever found...we always have to 'tweak' a recipe to make it our own, but start with this one and you will add five pounds to yourself, lol You will not be able to stop eating this! The best ever!

Greasy, lumpy, watery nothing of a sauce. Open a jar of prego instead, you'll be glad.

The sauce was really good. I used all 12 garlic cloves and let them sit for awhile in the oil(I did that in the morning that gave it alot of flavor and the only other thing I did different was to add red wine couldnt resist . But everything else I did exactly the same. fast work nite sauce. Thanks

This is so simple and classic and delicious! The Maroni meatballs is all this sauce needs. Once the meatballs were in there(which are also perfection BTW, they lended their flavor to the sauce beautifully! I am waiting to add the basil fresh to the bowl as he did on the show and it can only push it over the top because it is excellent already and all I've tasted was a meatball with sauce(my sample...can't wait to add the noodles and basil for dinner tonight!

I cut the receipe in half and it was served on rigitoni. I also made the meatballs, they were great and relatively easy. A good meal.

Sauce was super easy to make. I loved the amount of garlic in it...never too much! It was a bit oily, so might add 4 or 5 oz of oil instead of 6. It complimented the meatballs very well. I agree that it was missing something. A little red pepper flake would be nice.

Thank you SO MUCH to Mike Maroni for sharing his recipe; even though he sells this product he was gracious in sharing. I would love to roll into this restaurant and buy a "pot", but alas, I live in Virginia. I also watched the "Lasagna" throwdown, and Bove's got plenty of publicity but kept their recipe from viewers. Although watching this Meatball throwdown, I see that hisrecipe is essentially the same. This sauce, and the sister recipe for meatballs is the REAL deal!! If you don't like this sauce, it is probably b/c you have only eaten jarred sauce in the past. If it seems a little oily to you, it may be the meat you are using, and remember that sometimes oil is a good thing when it goes over pasta; many people put a little oil over the pasta first anyway. Good luck and I know almost everyone will love this authentic Italian sauce.
