I love this. I don't use the salt myself. just enough lime to avoid browning. I also use whisk to mash it u. it works wonderfully well for me.

Exactly the recipe I was looking for today since I've never worked with avocados before. Not spicy with cilantro or peppers, just the basics. I'll take it over to friend's house tonight for New Year's Eve party! Thanks Amy!!!

Simple, clean, creamy, buttery avocado at it's best. If I want onions, garlic, and tomatoes, I'll make salsa, but leave them out of my guac!!!

I'm a big fan of simple, clean foods without alot of overwhelming flavors. This recipe was ridiculously easy and tasted so good. It was a huge hit at a party.

The reason people may not like it is because our American version is all doctored up with other ingredients, but this is more in line with how they make it in Mexico. I like this version better than the others.

I agree that I wouldn't make guac without garlic. However, having said that, I would not try this recipe (it's hardly even a recipe. But I would not slam Amy for it either. Like someone said, why even try it if you know it's not something you would like. And regarding the "chesty" cooks comment (which she is obviously not, I think Amy is adorable. Who cares what she looks like, get over it.

Ya know, if you are going to slam someone's cooking based on their failure to be authentic, at least know what you are talking about. THIS recipe is 100% authentic and what I find in all of my MEXICAN neighbor's homes, and is how I learned to make it when I lived in Mazatlan, Mexico. I grate lime peel into mine and sometimes add a few drops of tequila.

The recipe is fine and simplistic. The only thing which I add to my guacamole which isn't listed is cilantro and onions. IMO, too many recipes add ingredients to guac which masks the flavor of the avocados, instead of enhancing them. This one doesn't. It is, however, dependent upon well flavored avocados.

I have no idea what Amy was thinking here. Guacamole is a combination of flavors including avocado, not ONLY avocado. if the dip was only supposed to be avocado, it would not be called guacamole, it would be called avocado. Amy finley really shows that she knows nothing about being a television cook. very disappointing.
