    This was a hit for Christmas dinner. Made some modifications. Sauted diced bacon first, removed, cooked shallots in bacon fat. Then followed the recipe. Topped with bacon bits at end. Everyone loved it.

    I fixed this recipe for Christmas Dinner and it was a hit with everyone. Very creamy, elegant, and mild-tasting, it was a perfect compliment to my Rib Roast Dinner. This is now our new family favorite!

    I found this recipe to be excellent. We started by rendering 2 strips of bacon as a base and then followed his recipe; adding bacon back into mixture.
